Kara Neko by Jonathan Waiter

Portrait series of Kara Neko by Jonathan Waiter I don’t think about this term “muse” very much. I don’t photograph my lovers. I’m not interested in exploring the many facets of a single person. In fact, I rarely photograph anyone more than once. Its not part of what I do. Kara is a very rare exception. My relationship with her is much more visceral and complex. I do consider her a muse. I have real love for her. Working with her is a much different process for me. My intentions are totally transformed, and usually purely instinctual. My pictures are about her. This is significant because my pictures are usually about me. jonathanwaiter
